Djoser c. 2667–2648 BC

Djoser's architect Imhotep built him the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, the first large building made entirely of stone. In his own time Djoser was called by his Horus name, Netjerikhet, written in a serekh; 'Djoser' is the name later Egyptians remembered him by.
